Privacy Policy

Short version: Stemzel separates audio on your device. Your music stays on your iPhone. We don’t run accounts, analytics, or ad tracking.

This Privacy Policy describes how Stemzel (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Stemzel iOS app and related websites (the “Service”).

1. Who we are

Stemzel is an on-device audio stem separation app for iPhone. Contact: support@stemzel.com.

2. Information we collect

Stemzel is designed to collect as little as possible.

Audio you import or record. Files you choose from Files/iCloud, audio you download from a link you paste, or audio you record with the microphone are processed and stored locally on your device so you can split, mix, and export stems.
On-device settings. The app may store small local preferences (for example, whether you’ve unlocked the app or completed the product tour) using Apple’s on-device storage (UserDefaults). This data does not leave your device through Stemzel.
Purchases. One-time unlock and tip purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit / the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide us with purchase/receipt information needed to unlock features.
Support email. If you email us, we receive whatever you include in that message (such as your email address and the content of your request).

We do not create Stemzel user accounts, and we do not require a name, phone number, or other profile to use the app.

3. How your audio is processed

Stem separation runs entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. Your audio is not uploaded to Stemzel servers for processing. We do not operate a content library or cloud stem service.

If you use “From URL,” the app downloads the file you requested over the internet to your device so it can be processed locally. You are responsible for only importing content you have the right to use.

4. Microphone access

If you use Record, Stemzel requests microphone permission to capture audio. Recording is optional. Recorded audio stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it through iOS sharing features.

5. How we use information

Local audio and preferences are used only to provide Stemzel’s features (import, separate, mix, export, restore purchases, and optional tips). Support emails are used only to respond to your request.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your audio with advertisers or data brokers.

Third parties involved only as needed to run the Service:

Apple. App distribution, In-App Purchases, and related App Store / StoreKit services are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
Hosting. Our website may be hosted by a web host or site platform that processes standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) when you visit stemzel.com.

7. Tracking and analytics

Stemzel does not use third-party advertising SDKs, and it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising. Our App Privacy details in App Store Connect reflect that we do not collect tracking data.

8. Data retention

Imported audio, projects, and stems remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app.
Deleting the app removes Stemzel’s local data on that device.
Purchase entitlements are managed by Apple and can typically be restored with Restore Purchase after reinstalling.
Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you and maintain ordinary business records.

9. Children’s privacy

Stemzel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information via support email, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your choices

Deny or revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings.
Delete projects or uninstall the app to remove local Stemzel data.
Manage App Store purchases and Apple ID settings through Apple.

11. International users

Stemzel is offered through the App Store. Processing of purchases and App Store data may occur in locations used by Apple. Website hosting may process limited visit data where our host operates.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
